In my mother's shoes

Soon as I see her lie
After a long day’s work
But without a sigh
I stealthily slip into her shoes
And feeling of warmth takes me high

It fits me no well
My little feet slip as I glide
I fall to the left and to the right
As I try to take a long stride

Walk as gracefully as she does
Be as elegant as she is
Is something I want to do someday
Is something I really wish.

This pair will be worn in and out
It will be worn night and day
But it is a promise to myself
That I will fit in someday
